Three people were murdered and three others were seriously and moderately injured, in a killing spree carried out by a terrorist in the Ariel industrial area and on Highway 5. It was only due to the resourcefulness of two fighters - a Golani fighter and a rookie in the Armored Corps - that the attack ended within 16 minutes, during which the terrorist went on a rampage and tried to harm as many Israelis as possible.

The terrorist collided with a vehicle that was standing on the side of the road on Route 5 - killing another person.
When the BMW driver stopped to help the injured driver, the terrorist stole his vehicle and continued driving towards the Samaria crossing checkpoint.
Near the checkpoint he turned around and started driving against the direction of traffic, colliding with several vehicles.
In the end he got out of the stolen vehicle and started to run away, at this point two fighters arrived - and killed him.
