Russian Defense Ministry spokesman Lieutenant General Igor Konashenkov confirmed that the wreckage of the missile that fell over a Polish town was from the Ukrainian Air Force.
Konashenkov said in a statement to reporters in Moscow today: The pictures of the wreckage found in the vicinity of the town of Przyudov were unambiguously identified by Russian specialists in the military-industrial complex as parts of the S-300 missile of the Ukrainian Air Force.
The Russian Ministry of Defense had earlier denied that Russian forces had launched any missiles towards the Ukrainian-Polish border area, describing the incident as a “deliberate provocation,” while Polish President Andrzej Duda said: There is no accurate information about the identity of the missile.
In a related context, US President Joe Biden informed NATO and the G7 partners today that the missile that fell on Polish territory was launched by Ukrainian air defenses.
