Deriving his vision from the rights of the child and with great seriousness and respect for the thirsty childish taste for knowledge and learning, director Mahmoud Darwish and the children of the interactive theater presented their show (Harf) on the stage of the Cultural Center in Aleppo.
The show, which was held by the Directorate of Culture in Aleppo, and whose ideas and characters were co-written by 6 children from the Life Skills team, discussed a number of children’s issues, including: child labor, early marriage, emigration from the homeland, and physical and psychological violence.
The director, Mahmoud Darwish, explained in a statement to SANA that what distinguishes the work is that the ideas of the text are written by children, and it includes purposeful educational songs written by Fakhri Qadoura and composed by Ammar Assani, in addition to that it addresses a number of issues by forming three letters of the alphabet, which are (H, R, and B). The current suffering of children in the post-war period.
The student, Lian Askif, stated that she embodied the role of Queen Zenobia, while the student, Duaa Mardini, said that she was formed from the letter (H), the word (ink), and embodied the personality of the psychologically and physically abused child.
The student, Youssef Atrah, pointed out that it is also a form of the letter (H), a story about the homelessness of children, the deprivation of the family, and the loss of security and safety.
The student, Qadaimati, explained to us that she wrote about the girl's right to education, embodying during the presentation a painting rejecting early marriage for females.
The student, Muhammad Qadimati, focused on two ideas: expressing opinions and addressing academic and family problems, indicating that he trained and worked hard to embody the two ideas he wrote.
The student, Hamza Hamida, from the third grade of primary school, expressed his happiness at participating and his love for theatrical art.
A number of attendees pointed out the importance of children's theater, stressing that it is a fine art that develops the mind of their children and promotes their imagination, in addition to that it contributes to refining their visual inventory and makes them taste for art and more adherent to human values.
