(ANSA) - ROME, NOVEMBER 17 - "The role of readers is extremely important, because in certain countries they operate in cities far from the capital, where there is an embassy and a cultural institute", therefore they maintain a cultural presence in Italy.
This was stated by the director of the Kiev institute Edoardo Crisafulli, on the sidelines of the Italian Training Days in the world, underway at the Farnesina.
"They are central figures in the promotion of Italian culture", he underlined, recalling that in Ukraine in particular they are experiencing a "great demand for Italian publishing to be translated".
More generally, the director Crisafulli emphasized the "enormous potential of Italian culture, very popular in the world, with an attraction that sometimes escapes us".
At the same time, he pointed out, "we are on the right track, because in 25 years of service I have seen a huge improvement, starting with the ability to create a system. Now much more is being done at the level of integrated promotion".
In recent times, moreover, "competitions to hire new cultural workers have been unblocked, and we enjoy greater funding than in an era of cuts. There are rays of light, and by increasing human resources a little, we will be able to do even more".
In this context, the Farnesina's initiative to give life to the Days dedicated to training, which brought students, teachers, principals and cultural staff around the same table: an "excellent format for exchanging experiences".
