21 Palestinians died and others were injured this evening in a huge fire that broke out in a residential building in the Tal Al-Zaatar area of Jabalia refugee camp, north of the besieged Gaza Strip.
Palestinian media quoted the Indonesian Hospital in the northern Gaza Strip as saying that 21 bodies arrived at the hospital, including seven children, and the number is expected to increase, as a result of the huge fire in a residential building in Jabalia, noting that the majority of the victims were from one family.
WAFA reported that a number of the victims and the injured were removed from the building and transferred to the Indonesian Hospital in the neighboring town of Beit Lahiya, stressing that the fire had consumed large parts of the three-storey residential building, and that citizens and civil defense crews were trying to extinguish the fire.
In addition, Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas declared mourning and ordered flags to be flown at half mast for one day of mourning for the lives of the victims of the Jabalia camp fire in the Gaza Strip.
