Sergeant Dante Roberts died of his wounds after being seriously injured yesterday (Wednesday) in the frontal accident in the Negev. Roberts, 21 years old from Kibbutz Yatbata, served as a strategic defender at the Ramon Air Force base.
The serious traffic accident happened between a military vehicle that went on patrol on the access road of the base - and a civilian bus that was traveling on the road.
The police opened a joint investigation with the military police to examine the circumstances of the accident.
After his death, Roberts was promoted from Sergeant to First Sergeant.

Another 9 people were injured in the accident.
Roberts, who was seriously injured, was taken by military helicopter to Soroka Hospital in Be'er Sheva, with multi-system injuries, including a head injury, while he was sedated and ventilated.
The MDA teams that arrived at the scene assisted the IDF forces and also evacuated a 19-year-old female soldier, who was moderately injured with bruises on her limbs, to the Soroka hospital.
The medical forces also evacuated six of the bus passengers to the hospital.
The bus, which transported civilians and soldiers, belongs to the Metropolitan company.
Among the injured in the accident were 2 civilians who were slightly injured, 4 soldiers who were slightly injured, 2 anxiety victims and a soldier who was seriously injured.
All the injured were evacuated to Soroka Hospital.
