Local sources in the hospital in the northern Gaza Strip said that 21 bodies were evacuated from the scene of the disaster and that the number of casualties may increase as the rescue operations progress.
According to local reports, some of the victims are members of the Abu Riya family, in whose house the fire broke out this evening.
It was reported that the fire broke out during a festive event for one of the family members, Maher Abu Riya, a senior employee of the Labor Ministry in Gaza, who had returned from a visit to Egypt.
Among the dead are also children and women.
