New York-SANA
Today, a committee of the United Nations General Assembly voted overwhelmingly in favor of a resolution recognizing the right of the Palestinian people to self-determination.
WAFA Agency stated that the Third Committee on Human Rights and Humanitarian, Social and Cultural Affairs of the General Assembly adopted the resolution on the right to self-determination for the Palestinian people by a majority of 167 votes, while 4 countries and the occupying entity opposed it, while 7 countries abstained from voting.
The resolution affirms the need for the Palestinian people, in all their places of residence, to exercise their right to self-determination and freedom, as guaranteed by all international laws, and to consider this as a prerequisite for achieving a just and comprehensive solution to the question of Palestine in all its aspects.
The decision is scheduled to be submitted for approval by the General Assembly in mid-December.
Last Thursday, the General Assembly of the United Nations renewed the adoption of a resolution affirming the right of the Palestinian people to permanent sovereignty over their natural resources.
