2022-11-17T19:29:07.248Z

The president of the department revealed this Thursday the amount of the ransom demanded by the hackers, discovered five days ago in a file

Ten million dollars (about 9.65 million euros) in cryptocurrency.

Subtly hidden in the heart of a text file, the ransom demand finally appeared, a week after the start of the cyberattack which has paralyzed the county council since November 6.

It is the same sum that was requested from the Corbeil-Essonnes hospital (Essonne) last August.

“That's not what we looked for first.

Especially since there is no reason to pay, and therefore no negotiation to be had, ”insists Jean-François Parigi, the president (LR) of the community who therefore suffers the same fate as his counterparts from the Ardèche, Seine-Maritime and Alpes-Maritimes.
