The Cassation essentially reset the sentences of the maxi trial on the so-called 'rimborsopoli' at the Pirellone, partly by prescription and partly by redeveloping the accusations and declaring them prescribed for having been reimbursed with money public, for a total of about 3 million in four years, the most varied expenses, including above all lunches and dinners (ANSA)

The Supreme Court has essentially nullified the sentences of the maxi trial on the so-called " Rimbopoli

"

at the Pirellone

, partly by prescription and partly by redeveloping the accusations and declaring them prescribed

for having been reimbursed with money public, for a total of about

3 million in four years

, the most varied expenses, including above all lunches and dinners.

In the second degree in July 2021, about forty former Lombard regional councilors were convicted

.

Today the Supreme Court, as has been known from legal sources, has reclassified the accusation of embezzlement into undue receipt of public funds for a part of the former exponents of Lombard politics and has declared the statute of limitations for them.

Therefore, the sentences of Massimiliano Romeo

, leader of the Lega group in the Senate (1 year and 8 months on appeal),

Renzo Bossi

(2 and a half years on appeal) and the Northern League MEP

Angelo were canceled without postponement.

Ciocca

(1 year and a half on appeal), defended by the lawyer Domenico Aiello.

For other defendants, it declared the embezzlement prescribed because it was committed before December 2009. For still others, it annulled the second degree conviction sentence, including that imposed on the former group leader of Sel Chiara Cremonesi, defended by the lawyer Mirko Mazzali.

On the other hand, only three defendants were convicted definitively
