Today, the Kazakh authorities announced that they had thwarted a plan to carry out mass riots, in conjunction with the presidential elections scheduled for next Sunday.
The Russia Today website quoted the media office of the Kazakh National Security Service as saying: National security forces, with the assistance of the Prosecutor General's Office, thwarted the activities of a criminal group involved in planning mass riots planned for November 20, coinciding with the country's presidential elections.
The media office added: As a result of a special operation, 7 people were arrested, investigated and material evidence was seized in their places of residence, pointing out that they were preparing to organize mass riots and attacks on state administrative buildings, law enforcement agencies and life support facilities using weapons and a mixture of incendiary materials.
