An oil tanker linked to billionaire Idan Ofer was hit yesterday (Wednesday) by a bomb launched from a drone near the coast of Oman. Today, documentation of the damage caused to the tanker was published on the American news network CNN. In the documentation, a hole in the ship's side and parts that appear to be remains of the drone that hit it can be identified.

The British organization in the region that monitors the movement of ships at sea, United Kingdom Maritime Trade Operations, told the AP: "We are aware of the incident, and it is currently being investigated."

The source identified the ship that was attacked as the Liberian oil tanker Pacific Zircon.

The tanker is operated by the Singaporean Eastern Pacific Company, which belongs to Idan Ofer.

According to the Marine Traffic monitoring site, the tanker was last seen off the coast of Liwa in Oman on Monday morning.

She left Sohar in Oman on Monday afternoon en route to the seaport of Buenos Aires in Argentina.

According to a security source in Israel, Idan Ofer has secondary ownership of the tanker.

However, according to him, there have already been attacks attributed to Iran in the Gulf against tankers linked to Israeli businessmen.

Therefore, it is not impossible that the Iranians chose this time to respond to the recent attacks attributed to Israel in Syria in this arena, added the security source.

Officials in Israel estimate that armed unmanned aerial vehicles that attacked the oil tanker that left Oman are of the same type that the Iranians supplied to the Russians for the war in Ukraine.
