In an operation led by the Immigration and Customs Enforcement Service (ICE), 138 undocumented migrants who had been convicted of sexual crimes were detained.
As reported by ICE in a statement, the agents of the Execution and Removal Operations (ERO in English), an agency within the Department of Justice, captured the convicts, among whom were "a 61-year-old Mexican citizen in Richland, Washington, sentenced by the Benton County Superior Court for Child Sexual Abuse in January 2020."
Also arrested was a 49-year-old Guatemalan citizen in Chicago, convicted by the Cook County Circuit Court "of predatory criminal sexual assault of a minor in October 2017."

Those captured committed the crimes between 2015 and 2022. In addition to Mexico and Guatemala, there are prisoners from countries such as Bolivia, Haiti and Cameroon.
