Chief Executive Li Jiachao continued his trip to the Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation (APEC). Today (18th) he attended an informal meeting and met with Indonesian President Joko Widodo and Singaporean Prime Minister Lee Hsien Loong. Li Jiachao said at the APEC informal meeting that Hong Kong has formulated effective measures to meet the challenges of sustainable development, including striving to halve Hong Kong's carbon emissions from 2005 levels by 2035 and achieve carbon neutrality by 2050 .
At the same time, it is also necessary to play the role of connecting the world and promote the matching of international capital and high-quality green projects, especially the construction of the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area and green projects under the “Belt and Road” initiative.
Afterwards, Li Jiachao attended the informal dialogue between APEC leaders and chairman guests.
In his speech, he said that he was encouraged by the members of the Association of Southeast Asian Nations to support Hong Kong's application to join the "Regional Comprehensive Economic Partnership Agreement" (RCEP). leadership in free trade agreements.
In the afternoon, Li Jiachao attended the dialogue session among members of the APEC Business Advisory Council.
