The Ecuadorian Prosecutor's Office confirmed this Friday that at least 9 people were killed during riots that took place in the El Inca prison in the city of Quito.
The information was published on the Twitter account of the Prosecutor's Office and no further details of what happened were disclosed.
This same Friday, President Guillermo Lasso announced the transfer of the leader of an organized crime gang from the El Inca prison to a high-security prison in Guayaquil.
