Two women in Bad Tölz donated 30 euros to an allegedly deaf man - but then they had doubts.

Rightly so, as the police make clear.

Bad Tölz - He pretended to be deaf and mute and asked for donations.

But according to the police, the man who was walking in Tölzer Marktstraße on Thursday was a fraudster.

Wolfratshaus women give money for deaf mutes

According to the police, two women filed a complaint on Thursday.

The stranger approached the two women from Wolfratshausen at around 3:55 p.m. and said they were collecting for the deaf and dumb.

They gave him 30 euros - but then they had doubts and they wanted to see the man's collective ID.

The 1.80 meter tall, around 30-year-old man then fled.

The women followed him and watched as he finally met a woman in the Kolberggarten parking lot, had a normal conversation with her, and drove away in a silver Audi A4 with Pfarrkirchner license plates (PAN).

The victims wrote down the number plate.

The police found that the Romanian owner of the car had already made a relevant police appearance.

Further investigations follow.

Police warn of scams

In this context, the police warn of this scam: “These are usually traveling suspects who pretend to be deaf and mute in busy squares or in front of supermarkets and beg money.

The scammers are often aggressive and like to help themselves from the wallets of citizens.” According to the police, extreme caution is therefore required.

Under no circumstances should purses or handbags be opened in the immediate vicinity of the “beggars”.

In case of suspicion, the police should be informed by dialing 110.
