For the first time in its history, the competition will take place as the Northern Hemisphere is about to enter winter, and in a country in the Arab-Muslim world.

Never, either, the test of the most practiced sport on the planet had taken place in such a young state, born in 1971, and so small in area, comparable to Île-de-France.

This one has, moreover, no sporting tradition.

This means that Qatar will be scrutinized from all sides for a month.

He has more than one challenge to face between now and the final on December 18.

All over the place, the comments are therefore going well.

The most critical forget that it is not hotter in Doha in December than in Mexico City in July;

that the construction of new stadiums is never without lively controversy: they were legion in South Africa in 2010 as in Brazil in 2014;

that the attribution of the World Cup as well as that of the Olympic Games...
