Washington appoints a special prosecutor to investigate Trump

Three days after Donald Trump announced his candidacy for re-election in 2024, United States Attorney General Merrick Garland has appointed a special prosecutor to oversee the Justice Department's investigation into the presence of classified documents at the Trump estate. former president in Florida, as well as key issues of the investigation related to the assault on the Capitol on January 6, 2021.
