(Greetings to Tishreen)...a cultural celebration in Lattakia to celebrate the glorious Tishreen holidays

Lattakia, SANA - In celebration of the Tishreen holidays and the glorious correction, the Syrian Forum for Culture held, in cooperation with the Thaq Directorate

In celebration of the Tishreen holidays and the glorious correction, the Syrian Forum for Culture, in cooperation with the Directorate of Lattakia Culture, and with the participation of a number of cultural forums, held a poetic and literary celebration under the title (A Tribute to October).

The poems of the poets participating in the celebration, which was hosted by the Activities Hall of the Al-Assad House of Culture in Lattakia, varied between patriotism and sentimentality, and sang of Syria, its glories, the heroics of its army, the greatness of its martyrs, the wisdom of its leader, and the memory of the glorious corrective movement led by the founding leader, Hafez Al-Assad.

The celebration, which came with the participation of seven cultural forums, included, in addition to the Syrian Forum for Culture, the (Awtar Literary Forum, Eagle of Ugarit, Bridge of Love, Ugarit Forum, and Kafriya Literary Magazine), in addition to the participation of a group of poets and writers from the governorates of Lattakia and Tartous.

The poet Qais Merhej, the director of cultural activities at the Syrian Forum for Culture, explained in a statement to SANA correspondent the importance of commemorating the correction, because of its emotional impact on the souls of Syrians, and the need for the intellectual to be present on all occasions, especially the national ones, to remind him of the sacrifices that were made to keep Syria disobedient to all who He lurks in it, and a towering fortress in the face of the terrorist schemes that, over the long years of war, tried to undermine it, stressing the importance of these forums as a cultural event that re-attracts the public to cultural centers.

The poet Jaber Al-Wazeh, editor-in-chief of the Kafriya literary magazine, who wrote a patriotic poem entitled (Damascus), stressed the need for the intellectuals’ message to reach the public, especially in light of the fierce attack and war that Syria was subjected to, and for them to revive, through culture, poetry and literature, the commemoration of the glorious October holidays.

Novelist Makhlouf Makhlouf, co-director of the Awtar Literary Forum, wrote a poem of free poetry under the title (Love Card), that the celebration came to salute and celebrate this patriotic, national and humanitarian occasion, noting the role of cultural forums that include poets and intellectuals who are best able to express people's aspirations and pain and express the word about Beauty and life issues.

The poet Sarah Khairbek presented two patriotic poems entitled “On the Wall of Tishreen” and “The People of Syria.” The poet, Azhar Nimr Raslan, who came from Tartous, presented a patriotic poem entitled “The Kiss of Glory to the Levant,” and another sentimental poem entitled “Dream.” As for the poet Jamal Abu Al-Shamlat, the director of the Forum. Nisr Ugarit recited a patriotic poem he wrote in 1996 to celebrate the anniversary of the correction, and the poet and writer Ghazi Zerba, secretary of the Ugarit Forum, presented a poem entitled (Syria with my love), while the young poet Ali Merhej recited a poem praising the glories of October.
