Syrian-Iraqi talks to enhance cooperation in the security field

Iraqi Interior Minister Abd al-Amir al-Shammari discussed with the Syrian ambassador in Baghdad, Sattam Jadaan al-Dandah, bilateral relations and ways to develop cooperation in the security field.

The two sides discussed prospects for enhancing joint coordination and developing bilateral relations, especially enhancing cooperation in the security fields between the Syrian Ministry of Interior and the Iraqi Ministry of Interior.

Ambassador Al-Dandah praised the efforts of the Iraqi Ministry of Interior in terms of enhancing security and stability in various regions of the country, and its constant endeavor to consolidate relations with neighboring and friendly countries to serve common interests.

Al-Dandah said in an exclusive statement to SANA that during the meeting, they discussed strengthening brotherly relations between the two countries and keenness to strengthen them in all security and economic fields.

He added that the settlement of the situation of Syrians who violated the residency conditions was also discussed, in addition to discussing mechanisms for expanding cooperation in the security field, securing borders, preventing the movement of terrorists between Syria and Iraq and exchanging information, as well as ways to increase trade cooperation and facilitate the task of Syrian trucks in transporting goods to all Iraqi governorates.
