The Omani Embassy in Damascus held this evening a reception on the occasion of the 52nd National Day of the Sultanate of Oman, at the Damarose Hotel in Damascus.
The ceremony was attended by the Special Adviser to the Presidency of the Republic, Dr. Buthaina Shaaban, the Minister of Presidency Affairs, Mansour Azzam, the Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research, Dr. Bassam Ibrahim, the Minister of Culture, Dr. Labana Mashouh, the Minister of Education, Dr. Darem Tabaa, the Minister of Industry, Ziyad Sabbagh, and a number of department directors in the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates, as well as religious, economic and cultural events. A media woman, a group of Syrian artists, and a number of heads and representatives of accredited diplomatic missions in Damascus.
In a statement to SANA reporter, Khaled Al-Zaidi, Deputy Head of Mission, affirmed that the National Day of the Sultanate of Oman is an important day for it, and it is an opportunity to reflect on the past and look towards the future, noting that the Syrian-Omani relations are distinguished, and there are efforts and keenness on both sides to enhance bilateral cooperation and push towards more practical cooperation.
Al-Zaidi referred to high-level visits between the two countries, cooperation agreements in the cultural field, restoration of museums and castles, and work to revive the meetings of the joint committee and the Syrian-Omani Businessmen Council.
In a similar statement, the Director of the Diplomatic Institute, Ambassador Dr. Imad Mustafa, said that the Syrian-Omani relations are constantly witnessing remarkable development in a way that serves the interest of the peoples of the two brotherly countries, pointing to the importance of the recently signed agreements between the two countries.
