Donald Trump's election campaign has begun.
The almost simultaneous restoration of his Twitter account and the appointment of a special prosecutor to oversee the investigations against him are the first developments since the announcement of his candidacy last week.
Trump regained his Twitter account on Sunday after the decision of the social network's new owner, Elon Musk.
The billionaire announced via Twitter the return of one of his most famous users, citing a vote organized by him two days earlier among users.
Trump had been suspended in early 2021 after the violent January 6 riot against the Capitol.
His account reappeared on Sunday, with some 58,000 archived messages, and the 80 million users who follow him.
His last tweet was on January 8, 2021, where he said he would not attend Joe Biden's inauguration as the 46th President of the United States.
