Five people were killed and dozens injured in a shooting at a nightclub in the US state of Colorado.
The Associated Press quoted a state police source as saying in a statement: "A 22-year-old gunman stormed a party at a nightclub in Colorado Springs and opened fire, killing five on the spot and wounding 18 people with varying degrees of injury."
The source added that the shooter was arrested while investigations are underway into the circumstances of the incident.
Shooting incidents in the United States are common due to the spread of a culture of violence in American society and the right to own a gun under the Constitution.
