Against the background of the crisis in the shortage of engineers in the economy: the Department and the Fund for Discharged Soldiers in the Ministry of Defense have increased to 90% the participation in the IDF funding for technological studies (technicians and engineers). So far, the Department and the Fund have financed 80% of the tuition fees for discharged soldiers and graduates of civilian national service who wanted to study These professions - about 8,500 are eligible per year. Now, as mentioned, the funding will increase to 90%, and the eligible can pay the rest of the payment from their deposit money, according to their decision. The Ministry of Defense's funding is 6,700 shekels.
The purpose of the move is to encourage the enrollment of released persons in technological studies, in line with the effort of the economy to find solutions to the existing shortage of engineers and technicians in Israel.
This is a pilot set for two years, at the end of which the contribution of the move will be examined.
