Today, the Ministry of Local Administration and Environment launched a specialized training program to enable representatives of elected local councils in Aleppo governorate technically and financially, and qualify them to implement the legislation and laws governing their work and the roles assigned to them.

The Assistant Minister of Local Administration, Eng. Moataz Qattan, explained in a statement to SANA reporter that the program includes empowerment in the field of financial law for administrative units No. 37 of 2021, preparation of budgets for city councils, towns and municipalities, preparation of a plan for needs and priorities in the residence centers sector, and highlighting the importance of the local administration law. No. 107 of 2011 and the internal system of administrative units and the importance of its application, and Contracts Law No. 50 of 2004, and the definition of the importance of managing the property of administrative units, and the most important legislation, decisions and circulars that pertain to their work.

Kattan indicated that the program, which will be launched successively in the rest of the governorates, and implemented within the framework of the joint cooperation agreement between the Ministry and the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees, targets, as a first stage, heads of administrative units, accountants, members of executive offices, and those responsible for residence centers.

The ministry pointed out in a statement that what is currently being implemented is the first phase of an integrated program it has prepared and will be implemented in stages.
