Today, the Qardaha Cultural Forum and the Cultural Center in Homs organized a poetry evening entitled “Poetry Memories”, in which poets from Iraq and various Syrian governorates participated.

The evening, which was dominated by sentimental and flirtatious character, was inaugurated by the poet Sidra Al-Asaad, who comes from Damascus, with her vertical poem “The City of the Sun”, telling about the city of Homs and its cultural and civilizational landmarks.

From Hama, the poet Trad Taha participated in the poem “My Country”, in which he sang the beauty of the homeland, while the poet Hussein Muhammad used the Bedouin dialect in his poem entitled “The Dowry” to tell the story of a poor young man who fell in love with a girl from a rich family.

The poet Rabab Hadid participated in the poem “A Scene of Love”, in which she used the musical style to summarize a scene of love in which tears, sadness and longing are mixed.

The poet Samer Al-Khatib had a lyric poem entitled “I Love You” in which he described love when it reaches the stage of infatuation, summarizing all the true meanings and feelings.

In her vertical poem entitled “Isthmus of Illusions,” the poet Mona Khadour toured the capitals of Arab countries and the situation in which some of them reached, to reach Damascus glory and civilization, and how its valiant army was able to protect it and preserve its dignity and glory.

From Iraq, the poet Salih al-Kindi participated in a poem entitled “Syria of Glory,” in which he embodied his love for Syria and its civilization and beauty.

The poet Ahmed Al-Basha presented a flirtatious poem in which he described the love that pierced his feelings and plunged the spear of seduction into his heart.

The evening was concluded by the director of the Qardaha Cultural Forum, the poet Ammar Merhej, with his lyrical poem entitled “The Concubines of Passion.”
