In a historic move, Qatar agreed to allow the residents and citizens of Israel into its territory during the World Cup games, at least those who purchased tickets to at least one of the World Cup games, but today (Sunday), shortly before the ceremonial opening ceremony was held and the first match was held between host Qatar and Ecuador, it was reported that Jewish organizations They were informed that they were prohibited from offering religious services and that prayer was prohibited for security reasons, on the grounds that it would not be possible to secure Jews who would do so and therefore this is a prohibited action.

According to the news published in the "Jerusalem Post", sources in Jewish organizations also said that they were forbidden to sell or offer kosher food to the millions of fans who arrived in the country.

"We were promised that it would be possible for the Jewish public who would come to watch the games to pray in the areas that would be allocated for that purpose, but recently we were told that it would not be possible to do so because it would not be possible to secure the worshipers."

The Jerusalem Post also wrote that according to estimates, over 10,000 Jews from all over the world will arrive in Qatar, of course also from Israel, but the idea of offering them kosher food came to nothing.

Instead, a source in those Jewish organizations claimed that at this point they were only allowed to sell pretzels.

The organizations also said that since they were informed of the violation of the agreement, there are already Jews who have decided to cancel their arrival in Qatar for fear that they will not feel safe and will be left without kosher food.

"There is no kosher food, there are no Shabbat meals, and it will not be possible to pray in public. How is it that the great Qatar, which claims that it separates religion from sports, cannot secure Jewish worshipers?", claimed the same organizations.

The Jerusalem Post contacted Qatar's Ministry of Foreign Affairs, but no response was received by the time the article was published.
