Within the framework of the joint cooperation agreement in the water field that was signed between Syria and the Czech Republic, the Director General of the Damascus Water Corporation and its countryside, Issam Al-Tabbaa, and the Czech Ambassador to Damascus, Eva Filippi, were briefed on the work of preparing the water purification plant in the town of Hazeh in the countryside of Damascus.
The agreement includes the supply and installation of a drinking water purification plant in the town of Hazza and providing it with a solar energy system. The purification plant will be equipped and connected to drinking water lines and manholes that are equipped with the aim of securing drinking water for citizens. It operates with an average production capacity of about 18 cubic meters per hour.
Ambassador Felipe stressed the importance of cooperation between the two countries, noting that it would be an introduction to other service projects offered by the Czech government in the future.
On the 12th of last month, the General Corporation for Drinking Water and Sanitation in Damascus signed an agreement with Ecomonitor Company, which includes the implementation of a solar energy system to operate the drinking water purification plant in Haza, rural Damascus, and the rehabilitation of some damaged sewage and drinking water networks in that area with the aim of securing drinking water for citizens.
