Semlat, a Jeep importer, is launching the new (and fifth) generation of the Grand Cherokee in Israel, replacing the outgoing generation that has been marketed here since 2011. This year, the Grand Cherokee also celebrates 30 years since it was first introduced and is considered Jeep's most successful model in Israel and around the world, and its fifth generation receives quality improvement and technology upgrades, with the help of which Jeep hopes to compete against the German premium models.

The new Grand Cherokee was developed on a new platform that for the first time also supports a hybrid version, and after an absence of many years will be offered again in a 7-seat version.

The manufacturer also promises to upgrade the vehicle's performance, safety and reliability, while significantly reducing the vehicle's weight, noise, vibrations and stiffness, but it is a shame that when marketing begins in Israel, only the gasoline model equipped with the old Pentastar engine, a 3.6-liter V6 producing 290 hp, will be offered and a torque of 35.5 kgm, and without any electrical support in favor of reducing pollutant emissions and fuel consumption.

At least in the area of safety, the model will be offered with a significant upgrade in specifications, including a collision warning in the entire speed range with active braking and detection of pedestrians and cyclists, smart adaptive cruise control, autonomous braking also in reverse, 360 degree cameras and more.

3 trim levels will be offered to choose from in the 5-seat version, while the 7-seat version will be offered with four trim levels to choose from.

You will find another significant upgrade in the design and quality of the passenger cabin, which offers a leap forward compared to the outgoing generation, with a higher-quality and richer-looking driver's environment, a digital dashboard, several multimedia screens to choose from, smartphone connectivity and the option of a 10.25-inch interactive monitor for the front passenger.

As part of the model's tradition, the new Grand Cherokee promises real off-road capabilities, with dual-wheel drive as standard, an option for air suspensions that allow for an increase in the belly space up to 27.7 cm and the ability to cross water at a depth of 61 cm.

In addition, the vehicle is equipped with the Selec-Terrain traction management system, which allows the driver to choose the settings for driving on the road or off-road for optimal 4x4 performance.

Jeep Grand Cherokee prices are getting significantly more expensive and will start from NIS 399,900 for the basic 5-seater version to NIS 474,900 for the top version.

The 7-seater models will be offered from NIS 419,900 for the basic trim level to NIS 599,900 for the top trim level.
