A 21-year-old discharged soldier from Kiryat Shmona will be charged tomorrow (Sunday) with the murder of 18-year-old Yoel Lehanghel, during a birthday party in the city.
The indictment will be filed tomorrow in the district court in Nazareth, about a month and a half after the night in which the young man was murdered during a mass brawl, in which most of the participants were minors - even 13 and 14 years old.
The police did not find the murder weapon, but circumstantial evidence found and collected by investigators from the Kinneret area in the northern police district, led the prosecutor's office to the decision that this evidence was sufficient to convict the suspect.
The investigation revealed that a rumor was spread in Kiryat Shmona, according to which Thais were attacking some children.
As a result, several boys and young men arrived at the scene, including the suspect in the murder.
Police were called to the scene - and left it hours before the murder.

During the investigation, which lasted about 40 days, no evidence emerged that there was a racial motive for the murder.
As part of the investigation, many were arrested and interrogated, including minors, and testimonies were collected from many who were there, according to which a dispute developed between several boys and Lahanghal, who was spending time there with his girlfriend and other friends.
A confrontation developed on the spot and two policemen arrived at the scene, who left the scene.
Later, the confrontation resumed, during which Heghel was stabbed to death.
Despite the large number of people involved in the fight, it was clear that it was one person who stabbed Lahnghal, and it was this stabbing that caused his death.
The investigators believe that the suspect against whom the indictment will be filed tomorrow is the stabber.
It is possible that further indictments for violent crimes will be filed later, subject to the Youth Law and probation reports submitted by the probation service regarding the minors who were involved in the fight.

Attorney Zion Shimon, the defense attorney for the suspect against whom the indictment will be filed, maintains that his client is innocent and not the one who murdered Lahnghel. According to him, his client came to the place to eat and got into a confrontation by mistake. "All he wanted was to separate the quarrelers," he said. He claims because his client agreed to take a polygraph test and came out telling the truth. The accused was released from military service about six months ago and worked odd jobs. He has no criminal record.
During the investigation, the police investigation department arrested a police officer on suspicion of disrupting the investigation into the murder of 18-year-old Yoel. According to the suspicion , actions performed by the police officer, related to the main suspect, were intended to hide important information regarding one of the suspects in the murder, who is the ex-partner of his house. Also, the commander of the northern district of the police removed the commander of the Kiryat Shmona station from his position.
