The area of land cultivated with rain-fed barley in Homs governorate for the current agricultural season amounted to 2748 hectares out of the total planned area of 38 thousand and 203 hectares.
The head of the plant production department in the Homs Agriculture Directorate, Eng. Azzam Darbouli, explained that the area can be increased during the coming days, according to weather conditions, noting that the rain delay and lack of significant rainfall in some areas delays agriculture, especially rain-fed.
It is noteworthy that the planned area for irrigated wheat amounts to 17 thousand and 420 hectares, for rain-fed wheat about 22 thousand hectares, while the planned area for irrigated barley is 529 hectares.
