After 40 years, the Tölz ballet school is changing hands: Sabine Brandhuber is handing over to show artist Dominik Hamalek.

Bad Tölz –

Dominik Halamek from Wolfratshausen is a dancer, acrobat and artist at the highest level.

He has already taken part in major dance shows such as Helene Fischer's stage show or performed on stage in "Imagine" or "Musical Moments".

Since 2019, the professional dancer has been trying to spark a passion for his sport in children and adults with his own dance studios in the northern district.

In November he also took over a dance school in Bad Tölz.

Halamek has already worked for Helene Fischer as an acrobat

Halamek has been running the "Ballet Factory" for almost four years.

"I took over the rooms from Sabine Brandhuber in Wolfratshausen and Geretsried," he explains.

And now the professional dancer from Lenggries is also handing over her rooms in the Old Madlschule in Bad Tölz to her former student.

"At almost 62 years old, I'm not the youngest anymore, and now is a good time to hand over the reins," says Brandhuber, who in turn took over her first dance school in 1982 from her former dance teacher.

In addition, there is a lot to do in her classical ballet school.

“You have to take a few measures to bring everything up to date.

I've always specialized in classical ballet, offered steppe and Pilates, but to be honest, I left the more modern dance styles a bit on the sidelines," reports the trained stage dancer.

More modern courses planned for dance school

Dominik Halamek will certainly bring a breath of fresh air here, she is convinced.

The 39-year-old, who discovered dancing at the age of five as a student of Brandhuber, also intends to do the same.

“I already offer some more modern courses in Geretsried and Wolfratshausen.

For example jazz dance, kids dance or video clip dance,” says Halamek.

There are many modern trends here, such as hip-hop, and so far this has been really well received by children and young people, he reports when asked by our newspaper.

For the Tölz school, he now also plans to expand the offer and to offer more modern courses in addition to the previous classical dances.

"But I'll build on that step by step.

I'm very excited to see how the first new courses will be accepted here in Tölz," he says.

Halamek does not want to give up his work as a choreographer, artist and stage dancer despite being taken over – meanwhile the third school.

“My strength has always been my versatility.

And I have a great team around me in all areas, which can always replace me if I have to do something else," is his plan.

However, the well-known show dancer will not offer any fixed courses in the Isarstadt himself.

"I wouldn't be able to reconcile that with everything else in terms of time.

But I'll step in if I'm ill, and I'll also give workshops from time to time." Newly interested people - whether big or small, whether beginners or advanced - can get a taste of the various offers at the sports school.

"I am firmly convinced,

Brandhuber stays at the dance school as a teacher

Sabine Brandhuber wants to say goodbye to the administrative business completely, but the 61-year-old wants to continue giving classical dance lessons.

"It's still a lot of fun for me," she says.

When asked what she loves most about her job, Brandhuber says: "The moment when parents come to the dance school with their child by the hand to register and ask, 'Do you remember me?'

When former students entrust their children to me, it means a lot to me.”
