The Prime Minister, Élisabeth Borne, welcomes this Monday at Matignon a Council of Ministers for Children, who will work on several themes.

After a visit to the Matignon hotel, around twenty children aged 8 to 12 from the network of child welfare associations will work in pairs on five themes: the environment, school, health and disability, access to culture and sport, and digital technology, supported by adults from this network, in order to develop proposals.

They will then have lunch on site before visiting the National Assembly, then return to Matignon to participate at 2.45 p.m. in the Council of Ministers for Children, chaired exceptionally by Élisabeth Borne.

The official Council of Ministers is normally chaired by the President of the Republic.

Then the children will present the fruit of their reflections to each of the ministers concerned, in particular Christophe Béchu (Ecological transition), Pap Ndiaye (Education), François Braun (Health), Rima Abdul-Malak (Culture) and Jean-Noël Barrot (Digital) .

This meeting takes place the day after the International Day of the Rights of the Child, on 20 November.

After the departure of the children, Elisabeth Borne will convene an interministerial committee for children.

President Emmanuel Macron had already organized a Council of Ministers for children with UNICEF on November 20, 2017 at the Élysée Palace.
