Numerous demonstrations erupted in Leipzig and other German cities to protest the government's support for the sanctions against Russia, which backfired on Germany and its allies.
The Russian Novosti agency reported that the participants described Germany as a puppet in the hands of Washington and called for the lifting of sanctions on Russia and a review of Berlin's policy towards Ukraine.
One of the participants in the protests said: We want the warmongers from “NATO” to stop fueling the confrontation between Germany and Russia, and between Ukraine and Russia.
Thousands of demonstrators gathered in front of the Bundestag in Berlin on October 8, in protests against the policy of the German authorities, and demanded the lifting of sanctions on Russia and obtaining cheap energy from it in light of the deteriorating economy and high prices, and their repercussions on the standard of living in the country.
