Memmingen - Deutsche Bahn (DB), Austrian Federal Railways (ÖBB) and Swiss Federal Railways (SBB) have implemented further expansions of services for the fast direct connections Munich-Bregenz-Zurich with the timetable change on December 11th.

In the 2023 timetable year, an additional, seventh Eurocity-Express (ECE) will be in service between the two metropolises on a total of around 40 days, thus realizing a continuous two-hour cycle on days with above-average demand.

Since April of this year, modern Swiss high-speed trains of the ETR 610 “Astoro” type have been running six times a day in each direction on the Munich-Bregenz-Zurich route via Memmingen, Lindau-Reutin, Bregenz and St. Gallen in just three and a half hours.

The comfortable, fast connections have been in increasing demand since April, with above-average occupancy throughout Germany.

DB, ÖBB and SBB have now jointly decided to use this additional seventh train between the beginning of April and the end of October 2023 on regular Fridays from Zurich to Munich and on Sundays from Munich to Zurich, as well as on individual, other main traffic days around Christmas, Easter and Whitsun or the Oktoberfest.

A further expansion of the offer should also be checked continuously.

The additional ECE 194 will start at 10.55 a.m. from Munich Hbf on around 40 days of service in the 2023 timetable and travel via Buchloe, Memmingen and Lindau-Reutin (departure 12.52 p.m.) to Bregenz, St. Gallen, Winterthur and Zurich (arrival 2.27 p.m.), for example ).

In the opposite direction, the additional ECE 195 starts at 3:33 p.m. from Zurich via Lindau-Reutin (5:10 p.m.) to Munich Hbf (arrival at 7:04 p.m.).

The first, additional train leaves Zurich on Friday, December 23 at 3:33 p.m.

All additional connections can be booked from Friday, November 11, up to six months in advance using all DB, ÖBB and SBB booking media.
