The head of the Central Election Commission of Kazakhstan, Nurlan Abdyrov, announced the victory of the country's President, Kasym-Jomart Tokayev, in the presidential elections.
"Kassem Jomart Tokayev won 81.31 percent of the vote," Abdirov said in his committee session today, in which the preliminary results of the presidential elections were announced.
Abdirov pointed out that the head of the Farmers' Union, Giguli Dayrabaev, received 3.42 percent of the vote, the social figure Karakat Abdin 6.22 percent, the economist Miram Kacikin 2.53 percent, the representative of the opposition National Social Democratic Party Nurlan Oispaev 2.22 percent, and the human rights activist Sultanate Tursinbekova 2.12 percent.
Yesterday, early presidential elections were held in Kazakhstan, with the participation of six candidates, including President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev.
