The two will come to court for a hearing on the extension of their detention • The incident took place last Saturday, during which the female soldier was attacked with a stick • Prime Minister Lapid condemned the incident of the attack: "a national disgrace"

Two suspects in the attack on the female soldier in Hebron were arrested last night (Sunday) by the police.

This morning they will be brought to a hearing in their case at the Jerusalem Magistrate's Court.

As I recall, last Saturday, as part of the Shabbat Chai Sarah celebrations, clashes broke out in Hebron.

Hundreds of Israelis crossed the gates and marched towards the Palestinian territory with Israeli flags as they entered the tomb of Atniel ben Kenez.

There was mutual stone throwing between the Israeli visitors and the Palestinians.

The security forces on the ground tried to restore order between the parties using measures to disperse demonstrations, but some of the Israeli rioters behaved with great violence, also against the security forces.

The soldier who was attacked is a resident of Tel Rumeida in Hebron.

Her father told "Israel Hayom" that "a hot-headed person hit her for no reason and then beat her with a stick."

Prime Minister Yair Lapid on Saturday commented on the attack on the soldier: "The attack on an IDF soldier is a national disgrace.

This is an injury to Israel's security, this is a moral injury to the Israel Defense Forces and to those who protect our lives, this is a serious criminal offense.

This evening I am strengthening the soldiers of the IDF who are guarding our country. We will bring justice to the perpetrators."
