A 6.2 magnitude earthquake shakes Baja California, Mexico, with no damage reported

The United States Geological Survey reported a magnitude 6.2 earthquake 30 km west southwest of Las Brisas, Mexico. There are no reports of damage or casualties.

-- A magnitude 6.2 earthquake in the waters off the coast of western Mexico was reported Tuesday by the United States Geological Survey (USGS).

According to USGS, the epicenter is located 30 km west southwest of Las Brisas, Mexico.

Las Brisas is located on the Baja California peninsula, below the California-Mexico border.

Preliminary reports from the USGS reported that the depth of the earthquake was 19 km.

So far, no tsunami warnings have been issued and there are no reports of damage from the quake.
