A woman reported an accident involving a deer to the police.

But before the police arrived, men had already taken the deer away.

Menden – A 57-year-old reported an accident to the police in the Menden district of Holthausen (NRW) around 7 p.m. on Saturday evening, November 19.

According to the woman, she rammed a deer with her SUV.

But when the police arrived at the scene of the accident, the injured animal was no longer there: Because beforehand, "two supposed hunters appeared who loaded the injured wild animal into a dark Mercedes Vito," as the police explain.

When the actual hunter arrived at the scene of the accident, both the supposed hunter and the deer had already disappeared, according to the Essen police.

Accident in Menden: Photo helps identify the perpetrators

A photo that the 57-year-old had taken of the license plate of the Mercedes at the request of the two poachers ultimately helped the police to find the perpetrators, reports 24RHEIN.

The address found led to an estate on Mintarder Strasse in Mülheim an der Ruhr.

In the courtyard, the police met a 25-year-old man who could be identified as the perpetrator based on the photo.

"After a confrontation with the situation, he admitted to having disposed of the deer in the forest," said the police.

But at least the information about disposal did not seem to have corresponded to the truth.

Because: The police discovered some remains of the now dead animal right next to the front door.

On this basis, the police officers obtained a search warrant from the responsible judge.

The following search found no clues as to the whereabouts of the rest of the carcass.

According to the police, the 25-year-old behaved extremely "uncooperatively".

As a result, a sniffer dog, along with a service dog handler and a team of hundreds, were called in to conduct the search.

The identified man and his 22-year-old brother resisted when the search began.

The brothers are now being investigated for poaching and resisting police officers.

The animal parts found were handed over to the responsible hunter.

It is not uncommon for there to be resistance to measures taken by the Essen police.

A BMW driver demolished a total of six cars last week and then defied the police officers.

He injured four police officers with punches and kicks.
