Seven months after the salmonella crisis that hit the Elite candy factory, Strauss announced today (Tuesday) that the popular chocolates are back on the shelves.

After the factory in Nof HaGalil is back in operation, Elite sweets are gradually returning to the shelves in the coming weeks.

Strauss, which has been working for years to expand the range of solutions adapted to the different populations, decided on a special production of gluten-free sweets, which will be marketed in a special limited edition box containing: gluten-free timeout, gluten-free spoon fun, gluten-free folded.

The boxes will be available for purchase starting next week, and for the first time, in order to make the products accessible to gluten-sensitive consumers, it will be possible to purchase them on online platforms and in dedicated stores throughout the country.

The company emphasizes that in light of adjustments and changes made in the renovated chocolate factory, attention should be paid to changes in the allergens that appear on the packaging.

At the same time, it is emphasized that the company works with the aim of finding solutions that will meet the needs of the allergy community in the future.

In particular, you should pay attention to the changes in the allergen box of the 'folded' snack and some of the cow's chocolate bars that until now only had a milk allergen.

The CEO of Strauss Israel, Eyal Dror, said: "We are happy and excited to return to the shelves.

Over the past few months, we have redefined our work procedures and worked to ensure extremely high levels of quality and food safety, based on learning we did in several leading chocolate factories in the world and under the guidance of experts on the subject.

The process of returning the chocolate production lines to work included a thorough cleaning, improving some of the infrastructure and renewing the two factories in the Galilee landscape.

We are excited to return to the shelves with tables and the beloved chocolate bars, however, it is important to emphasize that the products will return to the shelves in the coming weeks, gradually based on the rate of production and the accumulation of inventory."
