Chinese astronaut Chen Dong set a new record for the longest stay in space.
Xinhua quoted the Chinese manned space agency as saying today: Astronaut Chen, who was aboard the Chinese space station Tiangong, became the first Chinese to remain in orbit for more than 200 days.
Chen was sent for the second time to the core unit of the Tianhe space station aboard the Shenzhou 14 spacecraft on June 5 for a period of six months, and his first 33-day mission was in Tiangong 2 in 2016 with astronaut Jing Haiping.
