The Grasbrunn fire brigade saved a fallen horse on Monday with an animal lifting harness.
The next day, the 30-year-old mare Mistral collapsed again.
Grasbrunn
- On Monday at 7.30 a.m., Johannes Bußjäger, commander of the Grasbrunn volunteer fire brigade, received a call from a local horse farm.
Mistral, a 30-year-old mare, fell in the passage between the indoor and outdoor areas and was unable to free herself, reports the fire department.
Small rescue team - so as not to make the animal even more nervous
The commander checked the situation and saw: It couldn't be done with just the people from the farm, Mistral weighs a good 500 kilos.
So he called two comrades to help.
A small team.
"Because the more people, the more nervous the animals become," says Bußjäger.

The firefighters were able to get Mistral back on its feet with an animal lifting gear and a front loader, which the bus hunter quickly fetched from his own yard.
They cared for the horse until the vet arrived and then left.
Unfortunately no happy ending: the elderly mare falls over again the next day and will probably have to be put to sleep
Unfortunately, the story doesn't have a happy ending.
On Tuesday, the elderly mare fell over again and couldn't get back on her feet.
Old age, says Bußjäger.
Mistral would probably have to be put down to spare her suffering.
