The country of maharajas and the Taj Mahal is finally reopening!

As of November 22, 2022, health restrictions related to Covid-19 to enter India will disappear.

The country's authorities have removed the Air Suvidha health declaration, a form that one had to submit within 72 hours of departure.

This news was confirmed by the Indian Ministry of Civil Aviation, in a press release posted on social networks.

In addition, it is no longer necessary to provide a vaccination certificate or a PCR test.

However, in another press release, the ministry recommends that

"all travelers should preferably be fully vaccinated, in accordance with the vaccination schedule against Covid-19 in place in their country [of origin]"

.

No more obligation, only a recommendation.

This new easing is a major step in the return to normal.

Already, in February 2022, India had removed the mandatory seven-day quarantine for travelers from France and Europe.

Visa is still required

For the rest, the French are subject to the same rules as before the Covid, i.e. the issuance of a visa to stay in India.

As the RapideVisa site, an agency specializing in obtaining visas, reminds us, there are several ways to obtain the precious sesame: electronically, with the e-visa, issued in the form of a document present at the airport so that the visa is affixed to the passport;

and the classic visa, affixed in the passport before departure to India, by a Consulate via a VFS Global visa center.

More generally, this stage bears witness to a gradual reopening of Asia to tourism.

Since October, it is thus possible to travel to Japan without a visa.

In Taiwan, travelers are no longer subject to mandatory quarantine and a PCR test upon arrival.

In Thailand, the vaccination certificate and the negative test are no longer mandatory since October 1.

Visa-free stays have also been extended to 45 days, instead of 30.
