District - On the occasion of the international day "NO to violence against women!" on November 25th, the equal opportunities office, together with women help women Starnberg eV and the bakeries in the region, are organizing their campaign "Violence doesn't come in the bag!" for the fifth time.
This year, for the first time, all food banks in the district will participate.
In the period from November 18th to 28th, the goods will be in bags with the slogan “Violence does not come in the bag!…neither in the family nor in the social environment.
Look at!
Do something!” packed.
District Administrator Stefan Frey is again patron of the campaign and makes it clear: "We offer those affected a well-developed advisory network for support and guidance."
Husband or ex-partner are often perpetrators
Almost 50,000 women suffer violence every year - in Bavaria alone.
Often the husband, partner or ex-partner is the perpetrator.
Only cases reported to the police are included in the statistics.
Violence against women is also a reality in the district of Starnberg - physical, verbal or digital, it has many facets.
It takes place at home, at work or in social networks.
The inhibition threshold to seek help is often high and in the social environment of the affected women there is usually uncertainty about how to act.
It was therefore important for the actors to draw attention to the possible support and help offers in the district on the back of the bags.
"The best protection against gender-based violence is the reduction of injustice and discrimination and the actual equality of all genders" ,
Emergency card for download
The emergency numbers can also be found on the Starnberg District Office’s “Help for Women” emergency card, which is available from the Equal Opportunities Office and can be downloaded from the District Office’s website at www.lk-starnberg.de/Gleichstellung/Aktuelles under the heading Emergency Card ( also in English).
In addition, on November 25th, as in previous years, the flag "Living freely - without violence" will be hoisted as a visible sign of solidarity in front of the district office and the town halls of the city and the municipalities in the district.
