The Portuguese scored 145 goals in 346 games for the club (in total) that led him to glory and with which he won a Champions League before his stellar cycle at Real Madrid.
"Everyone at Manchester United remains focused on continuing the team's progress under Erik ten Hag and working together to achieve success on the pitch," the club said in a statement.
Manchester United had announced last week that they had "initiated the appropriate steps" in response to the star striker's recent interview.
Ronaldo gave an interview to TalkTV's Piers Morgan in which he said he felt betrayed by the club, expressed his lack of respect for manager Erik ten Hag and questioned whether he would return to the team.
In the TalkTV interview, Piers Morgan asked Ronaldo if the United hierarchy was trying to remove him from the club.
“Yeah, not just the manager (Ten Hag), but two or three other guys around the club.
I felt betrayed,” he said.
"Yes, I feel betrayed, and I felt like some people don't want me here, not just this year, but last year as well."
Ronaldo rejoined Manchester United from Juventus for a second spell at Old Trafford in August 2021 on a two-year contract, returning to the club where he won eight major trophies between 2003 and 2009.
Cristiano Ronaldo is part of the Portugal team for the Qatar 2022 World Cup. The striker will play his fifth and surely last World Cup.
