The city manager Sandra Herrmann presented a status report at the meeting of the spa, tourism and economic committee.

It was also about promoting trade in Tölz.

Bad Tölz –

Due to the restrictions caused by the pandemic and the baby break, city manager Sandra Herrmann submitted a status report over two years at the most recent meeting of the spa, tourism and economic committee of the city of Bad Tölz.

City manager submits progress report for two years

The advertising and marketing measures to promote local trade include, for example, the Tölzer value card.

The total turnover from 2021 (41,840 euros) was already significantly exceeded this year in October (43,390 euros).

The biggest buyers are still the employers, who give them to their employees.

Ulrike Bomhard (FWG) was surprised that so few gastronomic businesses were involved.

Sandra Herrmann couldn't really explain this.

This is probably a general decision of the companies.

The Tölzer shopping guide (circulation: 10,000) is now well established, the city manager reported.

It will be distributed via the dealers and the tourist information.

The Advent season is just around the corner.

The nativity scene trail through the city, initiated in 2021 together with the nativity scene association, will take place again this year.

Problem: lack of skilled workers

Six companies were visited in the first half of 2022 as part of business development.

The main topics were the shortage of skilled workers, traffic in the city center and the consequences of the Ukraine war, said Sandra Herrmann.

Mayor Ingo Mehner added other important demands from the companies: Designation of more commercial space and creation of living space for employees.

The Tölz business breakfast was also resumed.

With three dates in 2022, an average of 30 to 40 company representatives would have participated.

The early time (7.30 a.m.) takes some getting used to, but will be retained.

In the catering sector, the mandatory reusable packaging for take-away dishes, which will be introduced in January 2023, is a big issue, Herrmann reported.

Together with the business association "Wir für Tölz" they will try

In order to counter the shortage of skilled workers, the district office is already organizing a training tour through the district.

According to Herrmann, however, local companies are very interested in further measures taken by the city, for example to improve communication with schools or to implement targeted campaigns to generate trainees/employees.

There are also ideas for your own training tour in Tölz and "open days" to give young professionals an insight into the company.
