The American journalist, Grant Wall, was detained yesterday (Monday) for about half an hour after he tried to enter the game between the USA and Wales wearing a shirt with a picture of a football in the center and the colors of the pride flag around it. When Wall arrived at the stadium, he was told that in order to enter he had to change his shirt. He refused, was detained for about half an hour and was ordered to leave.

"I returned to the press center, still wearing my shirt," Wall tweeted, "I was delayed for about half an hour, they took my phone angrily and demanded that I change my shirt, but I refused.

Come on, guys."

Later, a story was published of a fan from Denmark, who held a ticket to the game between the USA and Wales, but was not allowed to enter the stadium because he had a sort of captain's armband with the colors of the pride and socks in the colors of the pride.

But that's not all.

Former Wales captain Laura McAllister also had a difficult time trying to get in to watch her country's match against the United States.

McAllister showed up wearing a hat with the pride flags on it, and she too was stopped at the entrance to the stands.

"I told them that I come from a country where we care about equality for all people, and I don't intend to take my hat off," she said.

"They insisted that if I don't take it down, I won't be able to enter the stadium."

Finally, McAllister had no choice - she put the hat in the bag, and went inside.

Yesterday, seven football associations of national teams participating in the World Cup declared that they are giving in to threats from FIFA and will not allow captains to wear ribbons with the colors of pride - in protest of the fact that homosexuality is outlawed in Qatar.

England, Germany, Wales, Switzerland, Denmark, Holland and Belgium issued a joint statement And it reads: "FIFA has made it very clear to us that it will apply sanctions if the captains show up with protest ribbons. We cannot put our players in a situation where they could be punished and receive tickets, so we have asked our captains not to wear these ribbons in the World Cup matches.

" We would be willing to pay the usual fines for violating dress codes, but we are not prepared for the possibility of being ticketed, or even suspended.

We are very frustrated by FIFA's decision, which is unprecedented. We wrote to FIFA already in September, and we have not received an answer.

The players and coaches are disappointed.

We will continue to show our support in other ways."
