Russian President Vladimir Putin affirmed that Moscow strongly opposes all forms of sanctions, restrictions, barriers and blockades against any country, which it has always expressed through various international platforms.

During his meeting today with his Cuban counterpart, Miguel Diaz-Canel, Putin praised the bilateral relations between Russia and Cuba, pointing out that they are always developing, and there is a plan to enhance cooperation and joint projects between them, based on the solid foundation of friendship in order to move forward in supporting relations, pointing out that Cuba takes the same The position in relation to Russia, which is the result of the traditional friendship established by President Fidel Castro.

For his part, President Diaz-Canel said: “Despite all the severe crises today and the difficult situation that Russia and Cuba are going through after the gradual application of unfair sanctions from a number of imperialist powers against our two countries, there are a number of joint projects that have been successfully developed.” NATO to Russia's borders is "unacceptable", and that Europe is subservient to US interests.

In a related context, President Diaz-Canel pointed out that the joint projects between Russia and Cuba, including the extraction of hydrocarbons in the Boca de Jaruco field, were not affected by the Western sanctions imposed on Russia, as innovative methods are used there and hydrocarbon production is growing.

He pointed out that there are several Russian investments in the (Mariel) area for special development in order to service (KamAZ) equipment, and that work is underway with Russia's participation in modernizing an important steel plant, the first phase of which will be completed in the near future.

The Russian and Cuban presidents unveiled earlier today a monument to President Fidel Castro in the Russian capital, Moscow, where the monument stands on a rock with a map of Cuba engraved in a distinct decorative way.

It is noteworthy that the monument is located on a square bearing the name of the leader Castro at the intersection of Novobechanaya and Second Pechanaya streets in the Sokol district.
