The Deputy Speaker of the Iraqi Parliament, Dr. Shakha Wan Abdullah Ahmed, discussed with the Syrian Ambassador in Baghdad, Satam Jadaan Al-Dandah, ways to strengthen bilateral relations between the two brotherly countries, and the importance of activating the work of the parliamentary friendship committees between the two sides.
A statement by the Council Presidency, a copy of which was received by SANA's correspondent in Baghdad, said: "Ahmed stressed during the meeting today that the stability of Syria represents a basic pillar to ensure stability in the region, and that this stage requires joint steps and cooperation to consolidate security and prosperity and ensure a better future for our peoples."
