The Sau Mau Ping Police District special duty team launched an anti-illegal labor and anti-pornography operation code-named "Champion" and "Ying Yue" at about 4 pm today (22nd) in the district. During the operation, the police arrested a 46-year-old woman surnamed Tan. She was suspected of "managing a prostitution establishment." Another 52-year-old mainland woman surnamed Tang was arrested on suspicion of "assisting in the management of a prostitution establishment" and "illegal entry".
In addition, the police officers found that the relevant establishments did not display the scanning code for safe travel in accordance with the Prevention and Control of Disease (Regulations and Directions) (Business and Premises) Regulations (Cap. 599F), and required employees to undergo rapid testing every 3 days , the responsible person surnamed Tan will also be prosecuted, and the two arrested women are currently being detained for investigation.
Pursuant to Chapter 139 of the Laws of Hong Kong "Keeping a Prostitution Establishment", any person who operates any premises, vessel or place as a prostitution establishment; shall be guilty of an offense and shall be liable on conviction to a maximum penalty of imprisonment for 10 years.
